NHL COMPARABLE : Frans Nielsen
POTENTIAL : Top-9 Two-way Forward
CEILING: 2nd Line C/LW
FLOOR: 4th Line C/LW

There’s no getting around it, Rasmus Asplund is undersized for the NHL. At the same time, I think he’s underrated for this year’s draft. He’s a really smart player and he does a lot of things really well for a kid that age which projects really well for the next level. Playing as an underage player for Sweden at the World Juniors is no easy feat and usually as long as kids his age don’t look out of place, it’s a really good sign. In my opinion, Asplund stood out in a good way. I think it’s likely he’s a high 2nd round pick but I think he’ll end up being a good one. My comparable of Frans Nielsen is very appropriate in this case as a kind of do-it-all, skill forward.
