When I first saw Pascal Laberge play, I was thoroughly impressed. What a sniper! What a great playmaker! The more I got to see him play though, the more I got to see some of the rather glaring holes in his games defensively. That’s not to say that this kid can’t get there because I think that he can. He’s going to have to focus on that part of his game and make significant improvements in order to graduate to the pros. The offensive game is solid, in fact, it’s more than solid…it’s excellent. He’s just going to have to put in the work to improve defensively.

The crazy part about the draft is that you just know that there’s going to be some really deep team that going to take a chance on him with a pick in the 20’s and they’ll have all the time in the world to be patient with him and develop him the right way. This kid in particular had a pretty difficult year on a personal level and still managed to focus and play hockey so if there’s anybody in this draft that I’m pulling for, it’s Pascal Laberge.
