COMPARABLE : Josh Morrissey
UPSIDE : Middle-Pairing Two-Way D-Man
FLOOR : Bottom Pairing D-Man

I truly believe that if David Farrance was 6’2, he’d be ranked in the top 15 of this year’s draft. He’s 5’11” and maybe a little undersized but he’s a fantastic skater with an NHL stride and excellent puck mover and even better puck handler. He plays a solid overall game and makes good decisions with the puck. Along with his strong puck moving abilities, he has the ability to skate the puck out of the defensive zone almost at will and defenders who can do that are at a premium in today’s NHL.

I like Farrance more than most and I think 2-3 years at B.U. will do wonders for his overall development. My comparable for him is Josh Morrissey and I think that Farrance has a really good shot at becoming that kind of player. I think his top upside is probably a middle pairing d-man and he has a relatively high floor for a player that’s probably set to be selected as a 2nd round pick. One of the most underrated players in the draft and one my favourites for sure.
