COMPARABLE : Brendan Saad
UPSIDE : Top-6 Offensive Forward
FLOOR : Top-9 Offensive Forward

He’s not as flashy as his brothers but Matthew Strome plays a much simpler game. It’s very much a ‘what you see is what you get’ with him but that’s not a bad thing at all. He’s a gifted offensive player who makes things happen when he’s on the ice. He isn’t the greatest skater but I think he gets to where he needs to go. He will no doubt need to make some improvements but I don’t really see it as something that’s going to hold him back.

I don’t think he has the top-end skill to allow him to be a top-10 pick like his brothers before him but I think he’s a pretty safe pick because he’s the type of player who should be able to adapt and play practically anywhere in your lineup and that’s where the value is for me.

My comparable for him is Brandon Saad because that’s who he reminds me of. I see him as that type of offensive player but it’s not guaranteed he reaches that level.
