FLOOR : 2nd Line Goal-scoring Winger
In my opinion, one of the most underrated players in this year’s draft and one of my favourites that I’ve liked for a really long time. The player I nicknamed “The Finnish Tarasenko”, Eeli Tolvanen is going to make some people regret having passed him over in this year’s draft.
If you like the way Vladimir Tarasenko plays for the Blues, you’ll be happy with Eeli Tolvanen. He’s not a big player but he’s stocky and doesn’t shy away from the physical stuff although that’s really not his game. This player is an offensive force and a true sniper. He fires laser beams out there and just knows how to score goals. That’s not the only dimension to his game but it’s certainly the most dangerous aspect and one that teams need to lookout for.
Tolvanen is an excellent skater and solid playmaker as well. I think he’s flying under the radar a bit having played in the USHL but he stood-out at the WJC and to me that’s certainly impressive as it is a 19 year olds’ tournament. All in all, I think Tolvanen is going to be at worse a 2nd line LW sniper and he’s got the potential to be a top line player.
