NHL COMPARABLE: Wayne Simmonds

UPSIDE: Top-9 Two-way Forward

Another one of my favourites in this year’s draft. People seem to have a wide variance of opinion on Korostelev but to me, he’s one of a handful of players who’s game will really translate over to the pros. His upside is tough to gauge because he’s really raw as a prospect but I see a guy who will likely fit anywhere on a team’s top-9. He will likely need more development time and while I expect him to be a lower pick (anywhere from low 2nd to 4th round pick). In the end, I see Korostelev ending up on a 2nd or 3rd line, providing a solid 2-way game while being hard to play against.
