COMPARABLE : Mika Zibanejad
UPSIDE : 2nd Line Two-Way Center
FLOOR : 3rd Line Two-Way Center

Jack Studnicka is a ‘jack of all trades’ sort of player (sorry for the bad pun). A centerman who is strong on faceoffs, a very good skater with good offensive and defensive ability. The type of player who will fly somewhat under the radar. Excellent work ethic…just a solid all-around player. Because of all of those factors, I think he projects as an NHL player but is his potential as a top-6 forward or more of a 3rd / 4th line player? That’s the big question but I believe the floor is probably higher on this player as opposed to many others who are ranked where he’s projected to go (late 1st / early-middle 2nd round).

I definitely see him as a player who can adapt his role and play anywhere in your lineup. My comparable for him is Mika Zibanejad as he’s another player who I saw as having 2nd/3rd line center potential back in 2011 and while it’s hard to pinpoint exactly how it’s going to work out, you are going to end up with a solid NHL player in any case when it’s all said and done.

I see Studnicka ending up a bit like that and possibly even a bit better than that.
