COMPARABLE : Roberto Luongo
UPSIDE : NHL Starting Goaltender
FLOOR : NHL Backup Goaltender

Just like the other top goalies ranked in this year’s draft, Stuart Skinner has the ideal size needed in today’s NHL. He’s quick and agile and plays big in the net. He has strong lateral movement and excellent reflexes. I’m certainly no expert on goalies but in all my viewings of Skinner, I’ve always come away impressed. He’s an athletic goaltender with a calm and relaxed demeanor which instills confidence in his teammates. He probably didn’t have the regular season that he would have liked, numbers-wise but I think he made up for it with a strong playoff.

My comparable for him is Roberto Luongo as I think he’s got a chance to be a good starting goaltender if he reaches his potential. I think the value is pretty good here in the later part of the second round to take a gamble on a big, athletic goaltender.
