NHL COMPARABLE : Mark Giordano
POTENTIAL : Top Pairing D-Man
CEILING: #2 Defenseman
FLOOR: #4 Defenseman

Sergachev is a fun guy to watch. Such a great skater and so smooth with the puck. He’s more of an offensive minded player but he’s got really good defensive instincts as well. He reminds me of Mark Giodano because of the way he takes control on the blueline. You really don’t see that very much with a lot of d-men in this draft but with this guy, you feel like he’s in complete control. Now that comparison may be a bit of a stretch but Sergachev has the upside to be in that conversation. He’s solid defensively, moves the puck extremely well, has good size, can skate, is physical, makes good reads, etc. In short, he’s everything you’d want in a top-pairing d-man if he’s able to reach his potential and if he doesn’t, at worst you probably have yourself a top-4 guy.
