COMPARABLE : Patrick Maroon
UPSIDE : Top-9 Offensive Forward

When you’re having a look at these guys, some of them you can tell they just don’t have the necessary foot speed that’s required at the next level. Sometimes, players are not that far off though and with hard work, improvements can be made to bring them up to an acceptable level but in Robertson’s case, I think he’s quite a ways away and his skating needs a ton of work.

However, I will say this, IF he gets his skating up to what can be considered even ‘average level’ in the NHL, look out!! This guy is has some pretty deceptive playmaking abilities and a great set of hands. When it’s all said and done though, I see his top upside probably as a 3rd Line player much like his comparable Patrick Maroon and just like Maroon, it will take some time for him to develop and continue to improve.

So I think he’s a pretty risky player because of all those factors but if you’re getting him late in the 2nd round or the early part of the 3rd round, I think there’s pretty good value there.
