COMPARABLE : Andy Greene
UPSIDE : #4 Defensive D-Man
FLOOR : SM-liiga Regular

Robin Salo is a good all-around defenceman who flags to me as more of a defensive D-Man as I’m not convinced he’ll provide much offense at the next level. He is a good puck-mover, he makes good reads and sees the ice very well. He has a chance at developing into a Top-4 defenceman at the NHL level but for that to happen, he will need to improve his skating. If there is a team out there that isn’t really concerned with his footwork, then I could see Salo ending up a second round pick.

My comparable for him is Andy Greene as I find he plays the same kind of smart, solid and safe game.

All in all, I think 3rd round pick is about right for this player when you consider the risk versus reward.
