COMPARABLE : Denis Seidenberg
UPSIDE : Bottom Pairing Two-Way D-Man
FLOOR : AHL Call-up

Noel Hoefenmayer is a two-way d-man that is a bit of a work in progress. He does a lot of things well but still needs to shore up some areas of his game as well. He’s a defenseman who closes gaps well, generally has good positioning and has a good stick. He’s a bit of a choppy skater though and he will definitely need to improve his top gear for the next level. I think he’s also going to have to work on his defensive awareness as well but he’s got time as this is a player who is likely 4-5 years away.

He had a pretty good season offensively for the Ottawa 67s with 40 points in 62 games but I’m not convinced that his offense is going to fully translate over to the NHL. After 2 or 3 years of development in the AHL, I could see this player ending up as a dependable two-way player who can chip-in offensively like his comparable Dennis Seidenberg.
